What does the loo roll crisis tell us about talent?
We’ve all worked with those people who think that everyone besides themselves is a talentless moron. They think that most of their team are useless so they end up having to do everything themselves (while ranting about the incompetents they hired).
This week I talk to Dr Maggi Evans, occupational psychologist and talent expert, about how to change our talent mindset. As leaders, we need to stop bitching—and reap the benefits.
Which ties into a piece of advice that Jay Shetty shares in ‘Think Like a Monk: train your mind for peace and purpose everyday’: for every critical thought you have about someone, write down ten positive attributes that they possess. (Maybe try for 5 first?)
Alternatively, frame them through the rose tinted lenses we use for our kids, college friends, or even our partners (though perhaps not during the third lockdown).
