Make your clothes WORK

“WHERE DID YOU GET THAT JACKET?!” was the question I was most asked after speaking at the Senior Women in Policing conference this week. One woman told me that as soon as she saw me walk towards the stage, she knew they were going to love the session.

The content I shared — 12 ways to be a great leader even when there are a lot of systems and people you can’t control — WAS the focus. But showing up looking the part massively helped land it. If only because I felt great and energised.

This week I’ve been out with stylist Samatha Harman to play with how clothes make us feel. Let us know what you think of our choices.

Key Learnings:

🪞 How you feel in your clothes changes how you feel AND then how others respond

🏋🏻‍♀️ Don’t start with event dressing: a lovely point from Sam was that redefining how you see yourself in the quiet times has a lot of impact (my pre-kids gym kit needs to go in the bin)

🪩 Clothes need to match your personality: of course, I wear flamboyant shapes, Kate Middleton wears pristine suits and Sam wears dramatic statements.

Enjoy the video!
